About Hollydale

Resting at the foot of the Peak District National Park, these luxurious semi-detached barn conversions and detached house have been sympathetically renovated to an exceptional standard.

Inside, the cottages retain all of their original character, with charming exposed beams and cosy wood-burning stoves.

Interiors, however, remain stylish and contemporary throughout. Spacious, welcoming sitting rooms, complete with smart TVs and well-stocked games cupboards, provide the perfect space to relax and unwind. Meanwhile, under floor heating lets you kick off your shoes and stay toasty throughout the winter months.

A high spec kitchen provides everything you need for an informal family supper, special occasion dinner or just a lazy Sunday brunch. The bedrooms in each property are kitted out with everything you need for an authentic home-from-home experience, including fluffy robes, straighteners and hair dryers and smart TVs in every room.

However, you’ll struggle to stay indoors when you see what the barns have to offer outside. Each cottage comes equipped with a private sauna and hot tub, where you can relax and enjoy the spot’s stunning sunsets.

The grass lawns are ideal for a game of croquet, badminton, swingball and football for which is all provided. You’ll also find a book exchange. If you do decide to explore the surrounding area, you’ve picked the perfect base.

The thriving market town of Leek is on your doorstep, Ashbourne is but a short drive, providing fertile ground for antique hunting, restaurants and cafes.

As well as easy access to the renowned Peak District National Park, the local area holds many other countryside attractions, including the Dovedale Nature Reserve. Here there’s a plethora of picturesque views, iconic limestone formations and pathways for walking and cycling.

Don’t miss a visit to The Roaches, a rocky outcrop carved by wind over the centuries – a great place for walkers, rock climbers and freerunners alike.

Meanwhile, Tittsworth Reservoir lies just 10 minutes away, offering various water sports including kayaking, fishing and sailing, as well as an excellent local produce café. For more high-octane adventures, Alton Towers is a 15 minute drive from the cottages and provides a thrilling family day out.

Don’t worry about leaving your dog behind for the day either – the cottage owners can provide a dog-sitting service upon request and subject to availability.

A fantastic and beautiful area to explore.

About the Location

The hillside market town of Leek, known as “The Queen of the Moorlands” is situated on the western side of The Peaks and is surrounded by lovely Moorland countryside. The town has a charming cobbled market place and there are many examples of fine Victorian architecture influenced by William Morris – a reminder of the town’s prosperity when it was renowned as a silk manufacturing centre. Today Leek offers a wide selection of shops including vast antique emporiums, a good selection of restaurants, a local park and leisure facilities and real ale pubs. Situated close to Three Shires Head, the meeting point of the counties of Cheshire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire, Leek is near to Chatsworth House, Buxton Opera House and Gawsworth Hall, plus Alton Towers is within driving distance.
